1-Location and market share
The hotel is situated in a populated village at the foot of Guadarrama mountain range.
The village is located 45 km.from Madrid and it is easily accessible by the A6 highway, it is also well connected by short distance trains and intercity buses, frequently departing from Madrid stations throughout the whole year.
Resident population 15.000 inhabitants, doubling to 30.000 in summer with seasonal residents. The village is also frequented by a large number of visitors for holidays and week-ends.

Due to its location, this hotel is a place for private holidays stays. In winter, the nearness of the ski slopes attracts clients mainly at week-ends, while in summer, guests stay at the hotel looking for relax and contact with nature, through the many trekking paths and cultural visits to the surrounding areas.
A remarkable economic growth is foreseen in this area in the course of the coming years, promoted by a number of public initiatives to reinforce the touristic attractiveness and both public and private infrastructure.
Moreover, there is a training centre close o the village that, being the only one authorized to award standardized certificates for certain qualifications, attracts a large number of professionals from all over Spain. THREE STAR HOSTEL
The size of the hostel is 240 m2 with 11 rooms. An enlargement project is foreseen to build 7 additional rooms and one conference room, which would provide 120 m2 extra surface. The 40m2 basement adds to the possibility for extra ground floor space.
Rooms are spacious and have heating, air conditioning, TV, telephone and internet connection.
RESTAURANT-CAFETERIA
The size of the restaurant-cafeteria is 140m2 plus 10m2 outside terrace, the kitchen being fully equipped including smoke exit.
The hotel opened December 2005, though the owners were running the restaurant previous to that date.
3-Services and opening hours
The hostel is open 24 hours 365 days.
The restaurant-cafeteria offers breakfast and lunch (â??dish of the dayâ?ť), plus dinner menu. It has an outside terrace with seating for 20 people in sofas and high tables. Opening hours are as follows:
Mon. to Fri- 7:00 h to 23:00 h
Sat. and Sun - 8:00 h to 23:00 h
Overall number of employees for the hotel and the restaurant: 4 people.
In additional, the hostel and the restaurant celebrate events for companies and families, organizing them at its own premises or through agreements with associate country houses. Its possibilities for business growth will be certainly increased after the projected extension.
CONCLUSIONS:
The market position of this hostel and restaurant is focused on stays for ski and summer holiday activities as rural accomodation. The area offers high growth expectations, and it is currently one of the main places for a holiday residence in the Madrid province, and it is very close to Madrid city. One advantage added to this business is the regular flow of business people coming from in-training sessions at the near training centre.
The current structure is profitable; moreover, we consider that the extension project may improve benefits, especially in view of the economic growth that is foreseen in this area.
